The 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical module features four
independent transmit and receive channels with an
8/12-core MTP/MPO interface, suitable for a maximum
transmission distance of up to 100 meters when used
with multimode jumpers (OM3). Primarily designed for
100G data centers, it operates at a wavelength of
850nm, with a working temperature range from 0C to
70C. Additionally, it incorporates built-in digital
diagnostic monitoring (DDM) functionality.
QSFP-100G-SR4-S compatible QSFP28 Optical
Transceiver Module supports 100GBASE Ethernet
throughput for distances up to 100m over OM4
multimode fiber (MMF). Utilizing an 850nm wavelength
and an MTP/MPO-12 connector, it complies with IEEE
802.3bm 100GBASE-SR4 and CAUI-4 standards. Equipped
with digital diagnostic functions accessible through
the I2C interface as per QSFP28 MSA specifications,
it allows real-time access to operational
parameters. With user-friendly installation,
hot-swappable capability, and compliance with
various standards, this transceiver is ideal for
diverse applications, including data centers,
high-performance computing networks, and enterprise
core and distribution layer setups.
SR4 (Short Range 4) is a short-range multimode
optical fiber module supporting a maximum
transmission distance of 100 meters. Operating at a
wavelength of 850nm, it is commonly employed for
intraconnections within data centers. The module's
maximum transmission rate is 100Gbps, and it is
compatible with both OM3 and OM4 multimode optical
fibers.
In the context of the 100GBASE-SR4 QSFP28 optical
module, the transmitter end converts electrical
signals into optical signals using a laser array.
These optical signals are then transmitted in
parallel over ribboned multimode optical fiber. At
the receiver end, the optoelectronic detector array
converts the parallel optical signals back into
parallel electrical signals.
