QSFP 40G SR4

The QSFP+ module utilizes 12 Fibers MTP/MPO Male connectors, achieving a link distance of up to 150m over OM4 MMF (100m over OM3). This transceiver adheres to the QSFP+ MSA, IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-SR4, and breakout to 4x10GBASE-SR standards. Simultaneously, it seamlessly interoperates with all standard 40GBASE-SR4 interfaces. Digital diagnostics functions are accessible through the I2C interface, as outlined by the QSFP+ MSA, providing real-time access to operational parameters. With these attributes, this easily installable and hot-swappable transceiver is well-suited for various applications, including data centers, campus and computing networks, as well as interconnections within and between switches, routers, NICs, and transport equipment.

The 40G SR4 QSFP+ optical module transmits signals through four channels. The electrical signals are initially converted into optical signals by a laser array. Subsequently, the optoelectronic detector array transforms the parallel optical signals into parallel electrical signals. By utilizing MTP/MPO connectors together, it accomplishes optical connectivity for 40G.

The QSFP+ SR4 optical module enables seamless 40G-to-40G transmission in a 40G fiber optic network environment. The simplest and most effective connection solution involves inserting a 40G QSFP+ SR4 optical module into each of two 40G switches and then using MTP backbone multimode fiber jumpers to interconnect these two optical modules, forming a fiber optic link.

In certain specific scenarios, where the requirement is to simultaneously connect with 40G optical modules at the same time and address, the quantity and wiring complexity of two types of fiber jumpers have been increased. Building upon the aforementioned connection solution, the incorporation of two 48-port 1U rack-mounted MTP enclosures is introduced. In a standard 1U rack-mounted enclosure, up to four 12-port MTP fiber adapter panels can be accommodated. This connection method provides significant convenience for better cable management and higher-density wiring.

The 40G QSFP+ SR4 fiber optic module is a parallel optical module with its four fiber interfaces simultaneously engaged in reception. Consequently, the 40G fiber optic signal can be divided into four 10G signals, achieving 40G-to-10G transmission. For high-density network wiring, the use of a 48-port MTP 1U rack-mounted enclosure, connecting with MTP-8LC branch fiber jumpers, allows the signal to be split into four 10G signals for transmission.

To handle cables more effectively, a 1U 96-port enclosure can be selected, connecting the four 10G LC ports at the front end of the MTP box to the HD MTP 40G port. Four 10G-SR SFP+ connectors are inserted into the 10G switch/ports and can be connected to the corresponding LC ports, facilitating bidirectional network transmission between 40G and 10G.
