The SFP-25G-SR optical module complies with multiple standards and specifications, including IEEE 802.3, SFF-8472, SFF-8402, SFF-8432, and SFF-8431. It is an SFP28 optical module with a central wavelength of 850nm, supporting Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) functionality. DOM helps network managers monitor real-time information about the optical module. Unlike other SFP28 optical modules, the SFP-25G-SR optical module utilizes a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) as the transmitter, requiring it to be used with 50/125µm OM3/OM4 multimode fiber. The SFP-25G-SR optical module is suitable for short-distance data transmission, with a maximum transmission distance of 100m. It can be applied to short-distance data transmission in switches, routers, Network Interface Cards (NICs), and storage network devices within a 25G Ethernet environment.
The SFP-25G-SR-S compatible SFP28 transceiver from Cisco features LC duplex connectors and supports a link distance of up to 100m over OM4 multimode fiber (70m over OM3). This transceiver module is designed to operate on the existing 1G/10G network cabling infrastructure, delivering a minimum speed increase of 2.5 times. Equipped with built-in Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM)/Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) functions, it provides real-time monitoring of the operating status.
